Painting - Pastel Oil
Description
The painting was inspired by a photograph from a friend of mine that you can find here:

by Konny. The original looks very different; it has no mirage. Here I spent weeks trying to remember what a mirage actually looks like since I have seen it many times in the California Deserts but never took a photo of it to remember.

Stunning color - I love the double reflection and that the bottom one is almost sharper than the animal and man themselves - as if the heat waves are blurring the actual scene slightly. My pick for DFM&N for October 12.

Angela, This is wonderful. I feel like this is a dream that I am having "inside a pumpkin"! I love it. I actually had a pumpkin on my head for a few minutes, and this is the color I saw. You have so many wonderful ideas and paintings! Thank you for telling us what your inspiration was. I can feel the heat and the dreamy sense that you portrayed in your painting. I also want to thank you for coming by, and leaving your wonderful comments and votes. I haven't been online too much on FAA, so I hope to try to catch up "someday". This painting makes me want to make some pumpkin soup, ( I would serve it "COLD", of course!" I hope you are well, and enjoying this time of year. FVG+
