Description
Someone long time ago sent me a photograph (unsigned) after the email exchanging hand many times. I loved the mood the image reflected and though it is completely hand painted and my creation, it was inspired by someone else's photograph, whose name I don't know. If you recognize the original photographer of a similar photograph, please let me know so I can properly give credit to him/her for the inspiration.

This painting I actually started in iPad but did not find it sufficient in texture and rich pastels that I wanted to achieve so I switched to my Wacom Intuos 4 tablet on my computer and achieved my desired outcome there.

Digital paintings have many advantages over paintings in oil or acrylic on canvas or board. The most important of these advantages of digital over "real" is that since they were already created digitally, they will be exactly as you see them on the monitor and not flat! This is a frequent complaint of purchasing a print of an oil paint on canvas, for example, since here you only see the photograph of that oil paint and hence all textures are flattened and are not enhanced. You don't get this problem with digital painting. You get exactly what you see! It is also green art--meaning it uses nontoxic materials and doesn't kills trees in the making!

A very good use of color and aerial perspective. I love the Impressionist style of this work.

I dont know where you are looking from, but this is truly stunning! Seriously I never thought digital can be better then real painting! f/v
Angela Stanton replied:
Sure it can but really only if you did the "real" before the digital so you know what you are looking to achieve. If you have never painted in oil or pastel, you won't be able to paint in that in digital. Digital is much harder actually! Few people realize that!
