Description
In 2010 I was invited to the University of Barcelona to give a lecture on human behavior and its associated hormones. In this honor they paid for my trip for 2 weeks in Barcelona. I took my husband of course and met with part of my family from France and we started our driving around Catalonia after my lectures. The first city we arrived in was Tarragona. Tarragona is an ancient sea city that is not too far south of Barcelona. When we arrived they had a soccer game (football to them) and the Barcelona team won. They shot loud cannons with such burst that I thought I was going to die. The arena for the game was next door to our hotel. I had no idea they had a game going on. So after that huge scare, I was not able to sleep plus with the jet lag of 8 hours, staying up to see the sunrise was a joy I seldom get to see.
On this picture you see the sun rising afar, the ancient ruins of the original Catalonia from centuries past right in front of my hotel, and the modern village and seashore that adorns this beautiful little city further to the left.
