Another image taken in Antelope Canyon--this one from one of the canyons in the Upper Antelope Canyon. This picture is looking straight up from a tiny crevice the size of a mouse I stood in tip-toe. The colors are stunning and natural light is used. The size of opening is misleading relative to the space around it--the opening on the right where you see the sky is probably 30 feet+ long but it is so far up that is looks tiny. The canyons themselves are in the north part of Arizona, close to the border with Utah and just about at level with the Grand Canyon but north of the well known South Rim. Also south of these canyons is Sedona with its red rocks and mountains, amazing creeks and canyons and vegetation. Antelope Canyon is near the city of Page from which you can take special tours with the Navajo Nation Parks and their licensed groups. To photograph at these canyons and be allowed to post and sell, you also need to purchase a photo permit from the Navajo Nation Parks, so the photos you find on my pages are all covered by such permit. The permits are very reasonable. watch out for the season of the year you are actually able to visit these beautiful canyons since during the rainy season the canyons are closed from public view since they are very dangerous if fast moving waters carrying heavy debris run through them unannounced from rains nearby--not necessarily over the canyons themselves. The hike itself is quite difficult at all of the canyon in the Upper Antelope Canyon, which is in contrast to the Lower Antelope Canyon where most tourists go and is an easy walk with large and spacious walkways among the gorgeously nature-carved walls.
