Description
I was walking on a private doc to yachts on Newport Beach, across Balboa Island, right where a small section of the water is blocked off for children to pay in the nearby condominium. It was midway low tide and it always invites birds in for an easy catch of fish and other sea creatures that get to be seen easier through shallower waters. I was quite far but I was able to capture one egret just in the process of catching a fish and I snapped a shot of that. I took many photos that day.

This painting is actually not of one photo but of several because I felt that the one hunting would be enhanced by another that is just looking at the potential success of the other. The painting is digitally created but is hand painted.

What is "digital oil painting on canvas" you may ask? People often associate "digital art" with auto paint but it need not be so. This is painted digitally with brushes and mediums that give it an oil paint like look and feel without it actually being oil. I have many clients stop in my studio touching my prints seeing the texture of the brush and see if they can feel it. As a print, no you cannot. But if you like, you can have gel (which is non toxic) added atop to create the texture for you. I am a green artist and prefer to not use toxic oils and thinners. But that will not change the quality of the workmanship, only the quality of nature and ecosystem that can breathe a bit better.

Beautiful! I like the warm foreground against the cool background. Putting the two birds in the same composition was a great idea. v/f
