Description
I have not yet been to Norway but I have a couple of friends there and one of them put me in touch with the most beautiful photo I have seen so far. It was done by Rune Overas and you can see the original photo that inspired this painting here: http://500px.com/photo/44390392 and please visit since I modified the picture significantly albeit for someone from Norway, this is probably recognizable. Rune was kind enough to let me paint various version of this gorgeous photograph.
My painting is by hand and is not a copy of the picture so elements are replaced with other elements--his photo has no fishing boat and fisherman in it either, nor glaciers atop the mountains. Later version of this painting will have significant textures in oil.
This particular digital version through the iPad, using the Inspire Pro app, has no texture. The picture is enlarged and interpolated to be full resolution so a very high quality print can be made in large size. I recommend print on metal or acrylic to play well with the smooth nature of the art.

That is why I put that in there Joyce! :) That boat is not on the original photo. The original photo has a ton of tangled seaweed in piles all through the photo.
