Autumn Forest in Misty Afternoon Light by Angela A Stanton is an image after today's rain. Rain is so rare in Southern California and of course we do not have the changes of the colors like back east but they exist in my memory. This is a digital painting in which I used the palette knife for the background in many places and pointillism impasto heavy oils for the leaves and the collected vegetation on the ground. The misty light comes through with regular bristle brush. This is a digital painting by the way but by hand.
